Tuesday was definitely one of those days that you want to write about, just due to the fact that nothing went right and sometimes it is just surprising that one person could have that much bad luck all in one day. So I was going to write about it, but it seemed so negative to just unload a long list of crappy things that had happened. But since today was filled with good things, I think that I can now take the opportunity to not dump all the negative out, but rather compare the two days. If it bores you then just skip this post, but I like looking back at silly posts like this.
Tuesday-
This week was 'bring your family to school' week and they had little activities every day. Tuesday was eat breakfast with your parents. The paper said 'come eat donuts with your student', 'available 7:45-8:45am'. We got there at 8:20 (usually we get their earlier, but in order to eat with them I had to park down the street and walk in instead of just dropping off) and there were no donuts left. That was all for nothing. Then I worked on our taxes and this year is the first year that we have had to pay instead of getting a refund (just in state taxes- cause California sucks!), so that made me depressed. Time to pick up the kids. Savannah's (my niece, who gets dropped off at my house in the morning and picked up in the evening) teacher tells me that she got detention and that she has been lying at school. Eli's teacher tells me that he had an accident (What?!!! You are 6! Although I remember having an accident when I was in first grade, those bathrooms are nasty), lucky he had extra clothes in his backpack. So we head home, all bummed out and find the kitchen completely covered in ants. I left 1 dish there and they descended on it like a fog. So I had to completely scrub down the kitchen. I asked Donald to put away the clean dishes so that I could put the dirty dish in the dishwasher. He usually stacks the dishes on the sink and then puts them in the cupboard. But, since the sink was covered with ants, he stacked them all in one little antless spot and a glass got knocked over to brake on the floor. So then I had to clean up the ants and the broken glass all over the floor. Surprisingly though, I handled it all pretty well and didn't freak out. I just cleaned it up and hoped for a better day.
Today- Well I wouldn't really say that today had the same amount of good luck as I had of bad luck on Tuesday, but it was still a pretty good day. I exercised this morning and then got all my papers graded. Then I decided to walk over to pick up the kids to get more exercise. I have been working with Savannah and her teacher said that she has been much better the last couple days. Then when we got home Eli lost his second tooth, I always think that is so cute. And now we are getting ready to play a little lego rock band and then it is off to the store to buy Valentine's for the parties tomorrow. And while my kids are partying like the Valentine rock stars that they are, I will be at a writer's conference in San Diego getting my book read. Hopefully that will turn into an even better day.
Ok, I know that was a lame post, especially if you made it all the way to the end, but I think it might be fun for me to sometime later look back on my crappy day.
