Love My Family!

We got our family pictures done this past weekend (Thanks Sarah!) and I have to say that I am totally in love with my family.  I am so blessed to have them and experience fun new things with them.  So grateful for these amazing boys in my life!

Scary Ride

Well it is pretty certain now, on May 5th I am moving to San Antonio, Texas.  The closer it gets the more anxiety I am having about leaving my family.  I know that it is only for a couple weeks, but I don't want to be there without them.  Hopefully May is like a blink of the eye and June comes quickly.  I'm not really nervous about leaving California even though I have lived here most of my life, because it isn't going anywhere and I can always come back if I really want to.  Mostly I am just scared because I have never lived alone and now I will be by myself, 1500 miles away from my boys.  That first night Don leaves is going to be the worst night ever.

You are the friend that comforts me, the friend who keeps me warm. You love me for who I am and never get mad when I push you around. My friend, My bed!

Have you ever had one of those weeks where nothing seems to go right? You try and try and try, but somehow feel as though you have had a little curse put on you because nothing works out.  Am I the only one who has these weeks?  Well you may have guessed, this has been one of the weeks.  A week where, despite my efforts, I would have gotten the same amount accomplished if I had just stayed in bed.  So why, I ask you, did I even get out of it?
I know I'm a pessimistic freak, so I probably shouldn't go into all the details, you would be reading for a while. I will just give you one example and you can times it by 15 and figure out why sometimes it would be better for me to just stay in bed.
Donald had an orthodontist appointment on Monday.  He has had braces for over a year and the teeth with the brackets are totally straight, but there are a few teeth that they never put brackets on.  The orthodontist looks in his mouth and says "They look great, we can take them off now."
Me-"wait you never did anything about these other teeth."
Dentist- Oh that will be phase two, because they were baby teeth and now they are adult teeth.
Me- So you are going to take them off, why?
Dentist- Well we will take them off, put on a retainer and then put them back on.
Me- You are on crack if you think I am paying for you to take them off and then put them right back on again.
Dentist- Well I guess we can start phase 2 right now, I think he only has one adult tooth left to immerge.  Go in and talk the secretary and she will go over the costs with you.

Ok, so my insurance has already paid them over $3,000 to put these things in.  I go into the lady and she says that I will owe $2250 for the second phase.  What? How can it be so much if they are already in his mouth and all you need is six more bracketts?
So I asked her, what about the insurance, doesn't it pay anything?
Secretary- Oh, that is with the insurance.
Sara- Well how much does it cost without insurance?
Secretary- $2995
Sara- So my insurance only covers $700?
Secretary- No, if you have no insurance we charge $2995, but if you have insurance we charge $4995, so your insurance is paying $2700.

Does this make sense to anyone else.  Shouldn't they charge the same for everyone.  I should get charged $2995 and then have $2700 come off of that. This is ridiculous, what is the point of even having insurance?  And why is it so much if he already has most of the hardware on?  Even the first phase didn't cost that much and that was when they put all that metal in his mouth.
So she sits there trying to convince me to finance it.  I say again, Ridiculous!  I pretty much told them to take a flying leap and that I wanted his records so I could take him somewhere else.  So they charged me $40 to get a copy of everything I have already paid for.
To make it worse the dentist is in Temecula because we used to live down closer to there and so I had to drive an hour both ways just to hear them try to convince me to let them rip me off.
And that was only a drop in the bucket this week.  I should have just stayed in bed, it would have saved in gas!
